Fuel From Corn
By: Jack Cooper
Fuel From Corn?, should we eat it or use it for fuel? Well for a fact we have to eat it, so how much of it are we going to take out of the food supply to satisfy our thirst for an alternative fuel?
This is a question we are going to have to answer and very soon, as farmers are producing more corn (price went up) and say they can produce enough for both food and fuel from corn.
Corn can never replace oil for a source of fuel for our vehicles. It can help some, but at what cost are you willing to pay for your food to be able to get an alternative fuel for just a little less than we are paying for fuel from oil?
Almost everything we consume as food has at some point, corn in it. From animals eating corn to fatten them up, to the loaf of bread, gallon of milk or your trip to McDonalds you are going to eat something with corn in it at some point.
All the things we eat are going to cost you more to save .20 -.30 cents a gallon at the pump! If your steak goes up another $1.00 per lb, your milk an extra .75 cents to $1.00 plus a gallon and your Big Mac another .50 - .75 cents each. What have you saved at the pump??
I will be linking to a few more pages about what Fuel from corn can do to your vehicles engine if not properly used, and the added cost to you for repairs and wear to your engine.
Just a few more things to consider. Come back soon and check for the links.
