Ebay on carfacts page 2

As I mentioned on Ebay and Craigs List page I will show you here some of the inspections I've done with photos and a brief on what was wrong or right with the vehicles, including possibly one of the worst I've seen.

I will also give you some information on what to look for if you are close to vehicle and can go look for yourself, and where and how to contact a person to do an inspection for you.

It is always in your best interest to have some eyes "on" the vehicle if you are to far away or if you don't feel comfortable looking for youself.

The price you pay for an inspection may be the best money you spent when buying a vehicle from Ebay or Craigs List. As you will see in photos below, if the person who was going to buy the Triumph would have bought sight unseen for $4,000.00 and paid to have it shipped he would have been very, very disappointed not to mention how P.O.d he would have been.

The photo below is of a 1967 Triumph that was advertised as a "1967 Racing Green Triumph that had been in storage and had a rebuilt engine, $4000.00, no pictures available"

The vehicle had no interior, grille, bumpers, deck lid or hood. Engine was setting in vehicle not hooked up, no battery no accesories, body was not straight, bent wheels and was not really much good for anything except a few parts, at tops it was worth $700.00 to $800.00.

A Triumph in average shape and runable would have been worth around $3,400.00 and this was by far not average.

Here is another vehicle, 2001 Ford Escape AWD, it dosn't look to bad and is about average for year and mileage (107,465) asking price $5,695.00 and would have taken $5,000.00.

The vehicle started and ran fine with no missing, no smoke, no check engine lights etc. BUT on the road test, when put into gear it was not firm just slid in (big problem) when strated to drive it slipped badly from 1st to 2nd and then had no 3rd gear at all, when tried to back up to turn around it just shuttered and jerked .

The vehicle had a severe internal transmission failure and being an All Wheel Drive the cost to repair/replace would be between $2,500.00 and $3,500.00, so a decent deal was out of the question and customer saved several thousand dollars by having the vehicle inspected.

So where ever you decide to make a purchase, on Ebay Motors, Craigs List or at a local Dealership or Used Car lot, just remember it may save you a lot of money on the deal if you don't know what to look for, to have a fresh impartial set of eyes to look it over for you. The money you spend for a Certified Inspection is way less than a major repair.
