Ebay and Craigs List - Warning !!

If you use Ebay, or Craigs List let me send out a warning. These are great places to buy from and get a good deal, most of the time.

But if you use these sites be warned that you can loose a lot of hard earned cash if you are not careful on what you are bidding on and don't know exactly what the condition of item that you are bidding on is.

This information is mostly intended for any high dollar item and in particular Vehicles. Most folks who put an item up for bid are honest and the items are exactly, or close, to the description in the auction. But there is always that small percent that tries to bend the rules and get your money for something less than what the advertised is.

There are some remedies in place that will help protect you, but it is usually after the fact and it takes a while to get a remendy and during that time your money can be tied up.

As a whole I have had pretty good luck buying on Ebay and I did buy an item for my Grandson on Craigs List that did turn out to but less than expected (a $400.00 car stereo system) turned out the speakers were blown. But system was worth quite a lot more than what we got it for so I didn't put in a complaint, I did email the seller but had no responce.

I have been doing Automotive inspections, pre-purchase inspections and appraisals for a lot of years now and have done several thousand over these years.

I have been doing pre-inspections for several companies and for myself, for people that have bid or wants to bid on a vehicle on e-bay and wants to know the exact condition of what they are bidding on.

I am sometimes surprised at what I find when I go out to inspect these vehicles and have saved my customers several thousands of dollars on what could have been a big mistake if they would have bought one of these, less than advertised, vehicles and have it shipped across country or in some cases to another country.

I will give a few examples on the inspections that I completed on vehicles that were less than expected at Ebay 2.

At Ebay 2 you will find more information on buying/selling on Ebay and Craigs List, and how to have the vehicle you are wanting inspected along with the photos of some of the vehicles I have looked at for customers.

I would have to say that only about one percent or less of the vehicles I inspect are not up to the description given, but if you buy one of the one percent it could be devestating.
