Carfacts Hot Rods
34 Ford 3 Window Coupe.
Here at the Carfacts Hot Rods and Performance Vehicle page you will get information on building, racing, clubs, and parts for your performance car....
Your preformance/hot rod car is similar to to the Classics except it is a modified version with the drive train, suspension and some body modifications.
There are some cars that are "Classic" and "Performance", made mostly in the "Hot Rod" or "Muscle Car"
era of the '60s and '70s.
Through the '80s and '90s like everthing else the "Factory Muscle Car" or Hot Rods sort of disapperared and a new wave of Loud Music and "Boom Boxes" came on the scene along with fancier paint jobs, and then in the late '90s and into 2000 to present the performance car is starting to make a come back.
Here at Carfacts Hot Rods site we will look at how the street cars of today take on a new look. I think due to movies like "The Fast and The Furious" a new style of Hot Rodding is evolving.
Unlike the Carfacts Hot Rods from the past with 500 horse power engines and the deep rumbling of the V/8 engine. These cars are modified 4 and 6 cylinder engines in Hondas, Toyotas, Nissans, Caviliers, Sunfires and the like.
These cars are quick and can be impressive if built the right way. But most I have seen are not built properly and suffer from a lot of engine and transmission failures.
Due to the I gotta have it now way of life we have evolved into, we here at Carfacts Hot Rods finds the largest part of the owners just buy some bolt on parts to get a little horse power boost, add some modified exhaust to get some noise out the tailpipe, lower the vehicle and add on plastic faring to the front rear and sides and go racin'.
Problem with this is they forget the main function of a good performance engine and that the heart of it all lies deep in the neglected block.
And most times all that bolt on horse power has done is weaken the bottom end and after a few hard runs the engine "Blows" and you wind up with some expensive parts either wasted or destroyed like the rest of the engine.
You need to not just bolt on parts but have the block built to withstand the extra horse power. Here on the Carfacts Hot Rods site we will point you to the right areas to build and maintain your performance car.
You will need to take it to someone that knows how to build the "Bottom" end to withstand the extra power you want and then instead of just noise out the back you will be putting your power to the asphalt and be able to keep running and not having your pride and joy towed home with a rod hanging out the side of the block.
