Carfacts 4X4 Information and tips....

This page is for all 4X4 owners and Carfacts will give information on your vehicle and your warranty...

Here on the 4X4 page you will find information on all types of 4X4 vehicles, where to find parts, information on Warranty for 4X4 vehicles and links to sites pertaining to 4X4's.

Warranties and 4X4 vehicles get a little sticky. If you have a stock 4X4 from the factory you won't have any problems with the factory warranty or obtaining an aftermarket policy(expect to pay a little more).

Carfacts has found the biggest problem you will encounter is if you buy a vehicle new or used and it is factory stock at time of purchase and then you modify it by adding a lift kit(body and or suspension),add over size tires and wheels you will have trouble when you have a breakdown and an inspector comes out and finds the modifications takes photos and sends the report to the warranty company.

Check your policy and make sure you understand the terms of the contract when it comes to "modifications".

If it is not stated where you can see it or you don't fully understand the wording check with your dealer or call the warranty company and have them clarify it for you.

You don't want to have a $1,500.00-$2,000.00 breakdown only to find you are not covered.

Also if you buy a vehicle from a used car lot, dealer or individual and it is already modified make sure if you are buying a Warranty that you have the dealer show you in the contract where it states you will be covered for those modifications.

I have done numerous instections on these vehicles where the customer assumed he was covered and was not told by the salesman that the modifications would void the contract.

Remember most sales persons are trying to get your name on that dotted line to make their comission or meet a quota and sometimes they "FORGET" to mention a few clauses in the contract.

I will be adding more to this page soon so check back....
